Something For The Weekend
March
1st
After a break yesterday, here is a round up of some posts to read over the weekend.
Alistair discusses the economics of it all in “Why you can wild camp north but not south of the border“.
“240m quid? That’s peanuts. At around 430m, walking is worth almost twice that to the Scottish economy. The shooting fraternity are a minority sideshow in economic terms up here and the only reason it’s “world famous” is Scotland is the last feudal playground in Europe.”
Robin blogs about being a rebel and the 430m line! in “Not above 450m”
“Seriously, the more I think about it, the more ludicrous this 450m rule is. When you think that the highest Lakeland peaks are only around 900m, it seems daft.”
